Terms and Conditions

About These Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions explain how Scrimpr works and what you can expect when you use the site or my services. I've written this in plain English to make it actually readable.
What Scrimpr does: I develop comparison tools and write guides to help people make better financial decisions. Scrimpr is my home for these tools. I've built all of them myself - from the GPT search engine to the cashback comparison system. If you've been here long enough, you will have seen how they have developed over time. I also offer a direct debit service that allows people to support my work.
Age requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to use the direct debit service. All other site content is available to anyone.
Financial Information & Disclaimers
I'm Not a Financial Advisor
All information on Scrimpr is for educational and comparison purposes only:
- General information only: I provide guides and comparisons, not personal financial advice
- Not regulated: I'm not a financial advisor and not regulated by the FCA
- Your responsibility: All financial decisions are your own responsibility
- Seek professional advice: For personal financial advice, consult a qualified, FCA-regulated financial advisor
About Information Accuracy
I work to keep information current, but offers and rates change constantly:
- Regular updates: I update comparison tools daily where possible
- Information changes: Rates, terms, and offers change frequently without notice
- Verify independently: Always check current terms on provider websites before applying
- No guarantees: I cannot guarantee the accuracy of all third-party information
My Comparison Tools
How They Work
My tools pull data from multiple sources to help you find the best deals:
- Automated collection: I use automated systems to grab rate and offer data
- Daily updates: Most tools update daily, though some sources are slower
- Reasonable efforts: I make reasonable efforts to keep things accurate but I can't promise perfection
- Spot something wrong: If you notice incorrect data, email me at hello@scrimpr.co.uk
How to Use Them Properly
- Starting point: Use my tools to get an idea of what's available
- Check directly: Always verify on the provider's website before applying
- Read the fine print: Terms and conditions matter - don't skip them
- Ask questions: If you're unsure about something, ask the provider directly
Using Scrimpr

- My content: Don't republish my guides or tool results on your own money-making site
- Ask first: If you want to use my work commercially, drop me an email to discuss
Affiliate Links (How I Keep the Lights On)
How It Works
Most links on Scrimpr are affiliate links. Here's how it works:
- I get paid: If you sign up through my links, I might get a commission

- Often you get a better deal: My affiliate links give you the standard offer or better, never worse than going direct
- I'm transparent about it: I disclose affiliate relationships on pages where it's relevant
Third-Party Services
When you click my links, you're dealing with other companies, not me:
- Their rules: Each service has their own terms, privacy policies, and customer support

Additional Legal Terms
Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the terms remain in full effect.
No Waiver
If I don't enforce any part of these terms in one situation, that doesn't mean I'm waiving my right to enforce them in future.
Force Majeure
I'm not liable for delays or failures in service due to circumstances beyond my control (like natural disasters, government actions, or major technical outages affecting third-party systems).
Legal Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Scottish law. If we end up in a dispute (hopefully not), it'll be sorted out in Scottish courts.
I've written these terms in plain English because nobody needs more legal jargon in their life. If something's not clear or you have suggestions, drop me a line at hello@scrimpr.co.uk
