Why I Created This List
I moderate r/beermoneyuk and own Scrimpr, where I write about earning money online. I use the survey sites, reward sites and the apps I recommend, which means I end up with loads of Amazon vouchers.
I thought people might be interested to see what useful stuff I actually spend them on, especially since I research everything obsessively on Reddit before buying. I've not included the things I wasted money on and regretted – these are only the things I am glad that I bought!

Drinks & Hydration
Yeti Rambler 8oz Tea Cup
Finally, a travel mug that's actually the right size for a proper cup of tea. It's a perfect 237ml (there are larger ones too). It keeps tea hot for hours without making it taste weird. I love this travel mug.
✅ Pros:

❌ Cons:
- Expensive for a cup
- Its made of stainless steel, so tea does stain it
Glass Water Carafe Fruit Infuser
Finally, I no longer have to awkwardly fish fruit out of water bottles. The wide neck makes it easy to add fruit and actually clean properly. Makes infused water that actually tastes good.
✅ Pros:
- Wide neck - easy to add fruit and clean
- No more fishing fruit pieces out
- Glass doesn't retain flavors
- Perfect for storing in the fridge door
❌ Cons:
- Glass means it's breakable
- My friend's laugh at me for making fruit infused water
Chilly's Straw Water Bottle (500 ml)
I bought this for cup for drinking water (yes, fruit infused) at my desk. The straw makes it easy to stay hydrated while working, and it's got a soft rubber base so it doesn't slide about. But it is a cup, not a travel bottle.
✅ Pros:
- Straw makes drinking easier at desk
- Perfect for infused water
- Keeps drinks cold all day
- Easy to clean
❌ Cons:
- This is damn expensive, but I had some Amazon vouchers to treat myself...
- This is a house cup, the lid doesn't seal so you can't just chuck it in a bag.
Rosso Nespresso Compatible Coffee Pods (12 x 10 pods)
These are the best non-Nespresso pods I've found. 25p each vs 45p for the official Nespresso ones. They're Aluminium, so they work perfectly in the Nespresso machine (unlike plastic ones).
✅ Pros:
- Much cheaper than official pods (25p vs 45p)
- Aluminium - better than plastic
- They actually fit properly)
- They all taste very nice
❌ Cons:
- Not quite as good as official Nespresso, but hey ho.
- Limited flavor variety
Cooking & Kitchen
Instant Vortex Air Fryer
This is what I use for most of my cooking now. From chips to chicken, it just works. Way faster than the oven and food actually tastes better.
✅ Pros:
- Cooks everything from chips to chicken perfectly
- Much faster than my easy-bake oven
- Can see what's cooking!
- Easy to clean
❌ Cons:
- Takes up counter space
- Can only cook small batches
Ninja Zero Stick Stackable Pans
I have a small kitchen, and I wanted good non-stick pans that stack to save cupboard space. Not ridiculously expensive like some brands, but still really good quality.
✅ Pros:
- Actually stackable - saves cupboard space
- Excellent non-stick coating
- Reasonable price for the quality
- Multiple sizes included
❌ Cons:
- Non-stick won't last forever
- Need to be careful with metal utensils

Simple but effective. Sticks to the fridge and lets us actually plan meals instead of standing in the kitchen wondering what to cook.

Simply the best cables I've ever had. Long, flexible, never get tangled (or very easy to untangle). These are the cables all cables should aspire to be.

Technics EAH-AZ80 Noise Cancelling Earbuds
Best mid-range noise cancelling earbuds I've found. Replaced my Jabra earbuds after I lost one of them. These are genuinely better.
