About WorldRemit

WorldRemit is an international money transfer service, regulated and licensed by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 900891). You can use it to send money to 130+ countries by bank transfer, cash pickup, mobile money or mobile top-up, which is handy when the person you are sending to does not have a bank account.

Sign Up Discount Details

Sign up with my link, or enter code REFER53BDTH5FBMVV when you register, then send £30 or more on your first transfer. You will then get a £10 voucher to use on a future transfer.

The catch is which countries qualify. You don't get the bonus if your first transfer goes to India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the US or Australia, which are some of the most common places people send to. Check the country you are sending to qualifies first. If it doesn't and you have flexibility, send your first £30 somewhere else to claim the voucher, then use it on the transfer that matters.

The £10 comes off the price of a future transfer, it isn't £10 in cash. UK residents only, 18+.

Refer a Friend Discount

Once you have a WorldRemit account, your referral link and code are in the app under Account > Refer a friend. For each friend who signs up with your link and sends £30 or more on their first transfer, you get a £20 voucher off a future transfer, or £25 if they're sending to Ghana. There's no cap on how many friends you can refer.

Your friend has to be new to WorldRemit and not in your household, and their first transfer has to go to a country that qualifies (the same exclusions as the signup reward).

Frequently Asked Questions

WorldRemit doesn't say why, but those are the highest-volume routes, where it already runs its own new-customer deals separate from the refer-a-friend reward. You can still send there, you just won't get the £10.

It isn't cash and you can't withdraw it, but it is a genuine £10 saving. The code takes £10 off the price of a future transfer, so if a transfer would cost you £20, you pay £10. You just have to make another transfer to use it.

It's the amount the recipient gets on your first transfer, before fees. Send £30 or more to a country that qualifies and the voucher triggers. Below £30, it doesn't.

Yes. It's authorised by the FCA (FRN 900891), so your money is held separately from WorldRemit's own funds until it's delivered. It has been going since 2010 and is owned by Zepz.

Different jobs. WorldRemit is better when the person you're sending to collects cash or takes mobile money rather than a bank transfer, which is common across Africa, Asia and Latin America. Wise is usually cheaper for bank-to-bank transfers to major countries, at the real exchange rate. Run a quote in both for the place you're sending to.
