Interactive Investor Refer a Friend Offer Summary
About Interactive Investor
Interactive Investor (ii) charges a flat monthly fee instead of a percentage - cheaper for larger portfolios. One of the UK's largest platforms.
Refer a Friend Bonus
Existing ii customers who hold a personal or joint Trading Account can refer friends. Share your unique Recommend ii link with someone who isn't already an ii customer.
Your friend needs to open an ii Stocks & Shares ISA, SIPP or Trading Account via your link and fund it with an aggregate £5,000+ within 12 months of opening. Once they meet the qualifying criteria, your £200 is credited to your Trading Account 30 days later, and they get 12 months with no ii account fee.
If the friend closes or transfers their account out within 12 months of opening, ii reserves the right to reclaim the £200 from you. The offer doesn't apply to accounts held in the name of a company or other entity.
Referrer reward: £200
Referee reward: Fee-free year
How it typically works
Step 1
Find a friend or family member who holds an ii Trading Account (not just any ii account)
Step 2
Ask them for their unique Recommend ii referral link
Step 3
Sign up via the link and open a Stocks & Shares ISA, Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) or Trading Account
Step 4
Fund the new account with an aggregate £5,000+ within 12 months of opening
Step 5
You get 12 months with no ii account fee; the referrer gets £200 cash into their Trading Account, 30 days after you meet the criteria
Worth knowing
Key features
- Flat monthly fee (rather than %-based), better value for larger portfolios
- Recommend ii programme: £200 cash for the referrer, 12 months fee-free for the new customer
- Wide range of UK and international shares, funds, ETFs, bonds and gilts
- ISA, SIPP and Trading Account all qualify (JISAs don't)
- FCA regulated
Things to consider
- Referee must fund with £5,000+ within 12 months of opening to qualify
- Referee benefit is a 12-month fee waiver, not cash — and doesn't cover Premium plan upgrades
- Referrer must hold their own or a joint ii Trading Account; just having an ISA/SIPP isn't enough
- Account closed or transferred out within 12 months can trigger a clawback
- Flat fee structure is expensive for very small balances; works out cheaper above ~£30k
- You need an existing ii customer to refer you — Scrimpr can't share a link
