If you’re looking for a simple way to earn money online, getting paid to watch videos might sound too good to be true. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t. But as someone who actively uses beermoney websites and moderates the BeermoneyUK subreddit, I can confirm that it’s possible – if you know where to look. But you won’t earn much, and you won’t earn it fast. This guide is based on real experience and offers only legitimate, tested methods.

Earn Money Watching Videos Online
These are all of the ways you can genuinely earn some money watching ads or full videos online, signing up to streaming platforms, or just from sharing your data from those streaming platforms.

Many cashback platforms and get-paid-to reward websites offer opportunities to get paid for trialing Amazon Prime+ and Amazon Prime+ Video TV channels. These promotions allow you to get paid to access content on Amazon Prime Video during your free trial period (just remember to cancel before the trial runs out).
The Scrimpr GPT (Get-Paid-To) Rewards Search Engine tracks the latest cashback deals for these offers, making it easier for you to find the best opportunities. Just click on the site in the table below, sign up, and then sign up for Amazon Prime+ Video through the link on the site.
Once you have been paid to get a Prime+ Video account, you can then get paid to sign up to individual channels like Paramount, Shudder, etc.
Get Paid to watch Cinema Trailers with DragonFly PressPlay

Earning potential: ~£5/month
DragonFly PressPlay pays users to watch trailers for upcoming movies and provide feedback. It’s a great way to turn your love of films into a small side income. You get paid about £0.70 per movie trailer and for answering a few questions, and can cash out to Amazon when you reach £5.
The pay isn’t high, but it’s also a lot of fun to see new trailers before they are released. To maximise your earnings, make sure to check the platform regularly and complete the quick polls for extra points.
Get Paid to Watch Adverts with WeAre8
Earning potential: £2-5/month
WeAre8 is a video social media platform similar to TikTok, but with an added twist – users can earn money by watching short adverts. The platform shares revenue with users, charities, and content creators.
Most ads last less than a minute, and typically pay £0.10 – £0.20 each. It is also easy to cash out directly to PayPal once you reach £1, but it will take a week or two of consistent use to earn that amount of money.
Sell Your Viewing Data to YouGov
Earning potential: £13/month (+ more from surveys)
YouGov is one of the more famous survey sites and apps, and it offers several ways to earn money:
- Online Surveys: Participate in surveys and earn points that can be redeemed for cash or gift cards.
- YouGov Safe for Streaming Data: Earn approximately £8 per month by sharing viewing history from streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon Prime.
- YouGov Connections: Earn around £5 per month by securely linking your bank accounts via Open Banking. This process is the same level of data sharing as used in cashback rewards programs.
To join YouGov Safe (or Connections), you first need to join the survey panel. After completing a few surveys, you will receive a few that ask specifically about your streaming habits and banking.
Sell Your Sky Viewing Data to MSR
Earning potential: £10/month if happy sharing data
- Sharing Ad-Viewing Data: If you have a Sky TV subscription, MSR will pay you to share your viewing data.
- Data Collection Tasks: Earn money by allowing MSR to analyze your mobile app usage and behavior.
- Retro Data Tasks: Get paid for your data on platforms like Google, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
Watch Videos on PixelPointTV
Earning potential: ~£3-4/month just for watching ads
PixelPointTV is a video-watching platform similar to YouTube, where users can earn points by watching videos with ads peppered throughout. These points can be redeemed for real money or gift cards by linking your PixelPointTV account to get-paid-to rewards sites. It is available in most countries, and it pays more in some than it does in others.
While it offers a way to make money passively, the earnings can be slow, especially in the UK. It takes a long time to accumulate a decent payout, so it’s only really worth it for people who can leave the website running on their computer (perhaps on a second screen). It can also be set up on a Firestick (just download the app from the Amazon app store) where it offer better rates.
If you decide to give PixelPointTV a try, then you need both a PixelPointTV account to watch the videos, and a reward website account to withdraw your points to. I have listed the rates that you can withdraw to various GPT platforms (LootUp offers the best rates as it is owned by the same company – Adscend!):
Get Paid a Few Pence Per Day With Eureka
Earning potential: ~£1.50/month for watching ads (more completing surveys)
Double Up on Eureka with Survey Pop
Earning potential: ~£1.50/month for watching ads (more completing surveys)
Triple Up on Eureka with Survey Spin
Earning potential: ~£1.50/month for watching ads (more completing surveys)
What’s better than getting paid twice? Getting paid three times. Survey Spin (use bonus code S8SCMY on the referral screen or in profile settings to unlock a quick £0.80 survey) is another Eureka sister site/app, allowing you to triple your earnings by watching the same videos across the three platforms.
Watch Video Ads on Digital Turbine with PaidWork
Earning potential: ~£1/month just for watching an awful lot of ads
PaidWork is a get-paid-to rewards platform that will pay you to perform a lot of tasks. It doesn’t pay the best for most tasks, but it does offer a unique opportunity to watch videos from the Digital Turbine platform.
The videos on Digital Turbine are short 30-45 second ads, and if you are lucky then they will pay you ~£0.05 per video. But this seems to rapidly drop to less than £0.01 per video. So it’s almost junk. You could earn £1 in a month, but you would have to watch more than 100 ads to do so.
The only saving grace about PaidWork is that they will give you an £8 bonus if you sign up using my link and earn your first £8 (they will double it). But it probably isn’t worth the effort.
Watch YouTube Video Ads on JumpTask
Earning potential: ~£1/month just for watching ads
JumpTask is another reward platform like PaidWork. It pays users in cryptocurrency for a variety of tasks, including watching videos.
However, the videos you watch on JumpTask are a little strange. It’s as if they are running some kind of YouTube ratings manipulation scheme, paying you to watch and rate “infomercial” style content on YouTube. It’s another site that only has a small number of videos available each day.
While it’s another way to earn money online, the limited and odd availability of videos means that you will not earn very much for your effort.
Watch Videos on Cheddar.tv & MM Watch (Make Money Watch)
Earning potential: ~£0.01/month just for watching ads (no mistake made)
I didn’t put Cheddar.tv and MM Watch in last place for no reason. Both are pretty poor options for watching videos that pay almost nothing.
Cheddar.tv is the video-watching service from the Lootably Offerwall, and MM Watch is the video-watching service from the Make Money Offerwall. They work just like PixelPointTV. To access either, you need to sign up with a partner get-paid-to (GPT) rewards platform, visit Cheddar or MM Watch, and watch videos for points. As you accumulate points, you can cash these out to your reward platform where you can redeem them for cash. The best conversion you can get is from RewardXP (one of the best GPT sites overall).
However, both platforms offer exceptionally low payouts and have a staggeringly low number of videos available (think none!).
Debunking Nonsense Articles on Other Websites
If you didn’t give up already, then you probably visited a lot of other blogs and finance websites that provide lists of sites that will pay you to get videos. You might have gotten very dissapointed when you realised that most of the sites listed did not actually pay for video or video ads. This kind of thing annoys me a little – articles written by professional writers who do not actually use any of the sites that they write about.
SaveTheStudent's Article "10 ways to make money from watching videos"
This article is clickbait. Supposedly it is updated frequently, as highlighted by the published and updated dates at the top of the article. But it is full of out of date, and sometimes just incorrect, information. In fact only 2 of the 10 suggestions are links to websites that will actually pay you to watch videos.
Just to hammer home the point – the number 1 recommendation on SaveTheStudent is Swagbucks. Swagbucks is a good site to earn money, but Swagbucks Watch was removed from the website in the summer of 2022.
If you do want to try out Swagbucks, then you can get a £10 bonus when you spend £25 in their cashback section (Swagbucks Shop) using our special Swagbucks link.
SkintDad's Article "6 legit ways to watch ads for money (UK edition)"
This article was supposeldy written in 2024, and yet the information contained within is incorrect. Here are their recommendations for how to earn money watching ads/videos and why they are just plain wrong about most.
- Swagbucks – discontinued Swagbucks Watch in 2022.
- Toluna – this site doesn’t (and hasn’t for ages) paid people to watch videos, but it does pay users to complete surveys and other tasks.
- Prize Rebel – also removed their watch page several years ago.
- Inbox Pounds – has never had the opportunity to earn from watching videos. Inbox Pounds only pays people to complete exclusive game and sign up offers, complete surveys, and complete the daily search.
- Earnably – just like Swagbucks, Earnably no longer has it’s own video section.
- WeAre8 – this recommendation does actually pay people to watch adverts!
StudentBeans' Article "Here’s How You Can Get Paid To Watch Videos & Ads"
This article is an abomination. Most likely full of copy-paste information from some of the other articles I’ve linked above. Depsite being a UK-focussed article, it even includes websites that are not accessible in the UK.
MoneySavingExpert's Article "Make money online - 20+ top paying sites and apps for making extra cash"
This guide article from the content editors at MSE is actually okay. It lists some good sites for earning money online. But it is another website that contains information that is at least two years out of date. Again, it highlights Swagbucks as a great sites for watching videos. It’s great for earning money online, but certainly not from videos.
Household Money Savings's Article "Easy ways to get paid watching videos and TV in the UK"
Pete from Household Money Saving actually included quite a few good suggestions in his post. I think he knows what he is writing about. But he still makes the mistake of gathering content from all of the other rubbish articles above and has included Swagbucks, Prize Rebel, and Inbox Pounds in his list – all sites that do not really pay people to watch videos.
Earnologist's "The Best Websites that Pay You to Watch Videos Online"
It is a bit of shame that Earnologist has become riddled with adverts and hasn’t been updated in a few years, because their post about making money watching videos online is actually quite good (although quite out of date).
